Itinerary Info!

Day 1:
- From Jakarta-Ternate (you will be flying with Garuda Indonesia to Ternate, this flight will use economy class)
- You arrive at Sultan Babullah Airport. Upon arrival, you'll notice that tourism here is still in its infancy: things are a bit chaotic. You'll be picked up & taken to the village of Kampung Fitu for about 45 minutes.

About Ternate & Tidore:
Ternate Island and its sister island, Tidore, are part of the North Maluku region, located opposite North Sulawesi. Both islands are quite small, about 10 kilometers wide, and lie diagonally below each other. Ternate is considered the main island, with an airport. It was once a sultanate, with the Portuguese, Spanish, and Dutch ruling it successively.

Ternate became important to the Dutch East India Company (VOC) because of its cloves. Even today, this spice remains important, and you'll see numerous clove plantations in Ternate and Tidore.

Ternate: In the center lies the Galamala volcano; roads and villages stretch along the coast. There are also several small islands nearby. Ternate exudes tranquility. You'll take a round-trip tour around the island. In Ternate town, you'll see remnants of the VOC era.
Tidore: Just under 1 kilometer away, accessible by small boat. There is also a volcano here, Mount Kiematubu, and it is even quieter than Ternate.

- You'll stay just outside Kampung Fitu, a small village on the south coast. There aren't any major sights here, but it's peaceful & located right by the sea
- Overnight at Kampung Fitu – Villa Ma Rasai, 3*, in Ternate. Type: Double Room

Day 2:
- Ternate

Excursion – Ternate Island Tour:
- This scenic 6–7-hour tour, with an English-speaking driver & guide, takes you around the entire island. Although the journey is only 45 km, you'll stop at numerous locations.
- Visit Ternate City & Fort Oranje, mostly old walls but fun to explore
- Stroll through the colorful market (vegetables & fruits)
- Visit Fort Tolukko, north of the city
- Visit the Sultan's Palace, a Bugis stilt village, & drive along the coastal road
- See Lake Tolire Kecil & Lake Tolire Besar (their green waters are reminiscent of Kelimutu in Flores)
- To the south, there's a lagoon with a fish farm you can stop at
- Overnight in Ternate

Day 3:
- From Ternate-Morotai

Excursion – Day Trip to Tidore from Ternate

- Overnight on board (shared lounge with beds; private cabins can be rented for an additional fee)

Day 4:
- Welcome to Morotai

Morotai played a crucial role in the Pacific War (1944–1945) as General Douglas MacArthur's stronghold against the Japanese. Traces of this legacy remain in the national museum and in the various war relics scattered throughout. A local collector also keeps World War II artifacts such as dog tags, lunch boxes, and medicine bottles—silent witnesses to those difficult times. Allied and KNIL forces also fought here.
